Our Approach: Expertly Supervised, Individualised Care

At Happy Chatter, each therapy session is delivered by Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) and carefully supervised by a qualified Occupational Therapist. This means every intervention is tailored to the child’s unique needs and guided by professional expertise. Prior to beginning school-based therapy, we conduct an in-clinic assessment to understand each child’s needs, allowing our team to develop a focused, individualised treatment plan that targets their specific therapy goals.

Flexible and Goal-Oriented Occupational Therapy School Visits

Our Occupational Therapy school visits are scheduled on a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on the child’s therapy goals and the school’s preferences. It’s important to note that while many goals can be effectively addressed in a school setting, some require a different environment. We work closely with families and schools to select goals that are appropriate for school-based therapy, ensuring that each session is both purposeful and effective.

Efficient Scheduling and Cost Management

For each school visit to be as convenient and cost-effective as possible, we coordinate schedules so that multiple children at the same school can receive therapy on the same day. This reduces travel time and helps keep travel costs manageable.

Each school visit includes a travel cost, calculated on a pro-rata basis based on the AHA’s therapy fee. When two children are scheduled at the same school on the same day, the travel cost is shared, making it more affordable. If a session is cancelled with 48 hours’ notice, the remaining family will cover the full travel charge for that week. This approach keeps costs fair while ensuring high-quality support for your child.
